For a carry along map, the best would probably be the Adventure Cycling Association's Pacific Coast route for that section. If you were touring the Oregon Coast, the state (ODOT) provides a free bike map with all the amenities listed. Haven't seen something comparable for California. And yeah, they really need to update the book, but I'm wondering if the authors are burnt out on it (and I wouldn't blame them if they did!) I like the book as an overview type thing, a book to check out at camp in the evening or at breakfast. It gives a good impression of the day ahead. But it's frustrating to use while on the road. Thankfully most of the ride of the coast is "Follow Hwy 1 south". (Or in OR/Nor Cal, "Follow US 101 south.") -Shawn -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
