Years ago I recall reading an article entitled "In Praise of the Short Ride" or similar. It was a counterpoint to the notion that one had to pound out some serious miles to benefit from cycling. Even a single digit ride can be refreshing, invigorating and generally head clearing. Just riding is worth just doing.
