I used that adapter with Jones bars for my proto-Bombadil. Mostly a good 
experience, but I found I had to tighten it very hard to prevent slippage. 
Also, I found it ugly, and I'm not typically sensitive to aesthetic issues. 
I was using a downhill mtb stem I had in my parts bin, so that was probably 
part of the problem. I've switched to bullmoose on the Bomba and put the 
Jones on a different bike. Both are excellent bars.
