Beautiful bags, Mike! Wow.

Could you help me understand the allure of frame bags vs. traditional
panniers for bike packing? The main argument I've heard is squeezing
through tight spaces. I've never understood this. My panniers are not wider
than my legs are on the bike, and in LCG the bike and I are even wider
except when I have to be pulling from the front or pushing from behind. Not
once have I had a space the panniers couldn't fit through, though my canvas
bags do get rock, tree, and bush loving rather often. Perhaps less hearty
nylon tends to rip more easily? The knee rub of a frame bag is bothersome
to me. So I've simply never grasped the preference. Any insight you can
provide on what I'm missing would be great!

With abandon,
Patrick
