It depends on what you mean by Riv-ish.

I think that in order for something to be Riv-ish or BOBish it has to
do its prescribed function, and do it well. I think any pump that
looks pretty, that matches the leather bar wrap or Brooks saddle but
that actually does a poor job of actually pumping up tires is in fact
decidedly NOT Riv-ish. I'm had hundreds (and I mean hundreds) of
flats on the road in my life.

I've developed some strong opinions about pumps. I've had many.
Everything from Zefal frame pumps to silly little mini pumps like you
were looking at here.

The smartest pump design I've ever seen, hands down, bar none is the
Topeak Road Morph. What it isn't is wrapped in leather, or made from
shiny hand polished aluminum stock. What it is, well its just the most
sensible and functional pump I've ever used. It looks like a slightly
oversized mini pump, but when you go to use it, it converts into a
floor pump.

That is that it actually has a foot pad, and the handle turns into a
smart easy to use t-handle. You pump against the force of the ground,
your foot holding the base steady. It has a nice long hose to connect
to your valve, and an easy to read in line gauge.

The worst thing about having a Topeak Road Morph is that when you come
across other cyclists struggling to pump up their tires with 300, 400,
even 500+ strokes to achieve pressure you'll feel obligated to stop
and lend a hand. I can't tell you how many people have gone out and
bought a Topeak Road Morph pump after using mine, or seeing me
completely deflated their tire (to make sure the tube isn't pinched)
and pump it right back up in about thirty seconds to FULL pressure.

Topeak makes a Mountain Morph, which pumps higher volume, but only to
lower peak pressure. I prefer the Road Morph because it can get to the
pressures needed for a Riv-ish bike (80-100psi).

Silly little mini pumps that weigh nothing and do nothing are the
reason that so many cyclists today use disposable CO2 injection. I
can't think of anything less green than disposable C02 cartridges.

That pump you link to is pretty, to look at, but I'll take something
sensible, dependable, reliable, and actually functional for what it is
tasked to do. If you need leather accouterments use leather bar wrap
on the Topeak pump body and leather wrap on the t-handle.

REI always used to have a little bicycle pump cheat sheet that showed
how many 'actual' strokes it took each pump to fill a mountain bike
tire to inflation and a high pressure road tire to inflation. The
Topeak Morph series was always HUNDREDS of strokes less than
everything else, and was always fastest to inflation by minutes.

It works, its functional, it does its job. Thats more Riv-ish than
something blinged up with leather that is essentially useless when you
need it in my book.
