Rubbing rubbery sound makes me think:

1.Got enough clearance around all stays?
2. Under fenders?
3. Brake pads not rubbing rims?
4. Is it a long, sustained sound or a quick, short sound? Once I had a tire
where the little new tire whiskers hit the brake pads every time they went
around. But that was sort of a ticking noise, not rubbing.
5. See here for solutions to unwanted bike noises:

Just for reference:
I run my Hetres at 50-55 psi and I weigh 170.
Have found that the newest generation of Grand Bois 650b 36 hole rims
pretty much auto-seat Cyprii, Compass Loup Loups, and 99% auto-seat Hetres,
if I remember right.
