I'll have to chime in, as my Protovelo -because of its charms - has thus
far evaded many attempts (in thought) to sell it. I have a Nobilette-made
650B 62cm (c-t) "custom" with all the lug-action that comes with a custom.
Fun bike, for sure. It has the old Matterhorn-style
decals:

I'd like to channel Grant and say: don't fuss about it. Its a bike that has
Riv's endorsement. Ride it, scratch it, make it as useful as it has
potential for, and don't worry about anything else. Its as good as anything
Rivendell sells, and nothing more or less.

Enjoy it!
