Having tried all kinds of kickstands, I found the best one for intra-aisle shopping is the dropout-mount stand. You can leave it down as you wheel the bike along, even if the drivetrain is fixed. And IME such stands support assymetrical loads better than at least the Pletscher and VO 2-leg stands.
My 2 current shopping bikes ('03 and Ram) don't have stands, so I carefully lean them up against fragile displays.
