Tom, You might also consider taking a file to your binder bolt. I don't think filing down some of the threads in the middle of the bolt significantly weakens it, and there is no need for threads in the space between the ears of the seat tube lug. I think I did that on my SimpleOne to get the long Nitto hanger to fit nicer. If you don't like how it comes out, another bolt to replace the filed one would be cheep and put you back where you started.
