The underlying issue here is cushioned and/or supportive shoes weaken our
feet and make them dumber. The solution is growing a stronger foot through
no cushioning and no support. All a stiffer shoe accomplishes is keeping
your foot unnecessarily weak. I ride in ZemGear shoes and love them. No
cushion, very flexible. Just be sure to give your feet time to adjust and
strengthen.

If you go with a stiffer sole, it will work in the short term, your feet
will weaken further, and you will "need" more support in your shoes. Stop
the madness, chuck the cushion and support! Grin.

With abandon,
Patrick
