I'm sure the Rivendell ethos will survive despite of the absence of lugs. I had a Surly steamroller that was tig welded and it was a lovely bike. As I recall it had a lugged fork and some nice dropouts. So many brands get diluted with crap products but I can't ever see that happening with Riv as long as Grant is drawing breath.
