I could care less about how many lugs there are. A more affordable Rivendell is something that I think is needed. THat said I think that $1500 is over the mark for what I would consider an entry level point. Once I hit that price or more I would look at saving the extra for a step up model or even a used Sam. With cheaper wheels, no FD, cheaper pedals, a cheap RD and such you could probably get a Sam under $2k.
