I have had bad luck with Honjos. One set was installed by a well
regarded custom builder. The other by one of Chicago's better local
bike shops. In both cases, relatively minor mishaps wound up knocking
the fender out of line and I was never able to get them to work
properly afterwards.

I have not had the same problem with Berthouds or even SKS fenders.
Once a stick that got between my tire and the SKS did prompt the
breakaway function compelling me to buy new mounting hardware. But
that is the fender doing what it is supposed to do. The Walds on an
old Schwinn Typhoon I restored for my niece have taken quite a beating
with no reported problems.
