32 vs 42? Not even close. Right up there with bringing a knife to a
gunfight. 38 vs 42, much closer, but let me tell you a little story.
There was a time a few years ago when I switched my Saluki from 38s to
42s. Just before the switch, I went on a gravel road ride. Long
downhill, I felt like I was out there at 9 tenths, descending at maybe
12 mph. Not totally terrified, but it really felt like I was out there
close to the raggedy edge. I put on the Hetres and around 3 weeks
later, I do that very same ride again. This time I'm going down that
same hill feeling very assured and comfortable, no more than 5 or 6
tenths, and I look down and find I'm taking that same rutted, rock
strewn descent at 20 mph. So some of that might have been that I had
some experience, I'd been down it and lived to tell the tale, etc.; but
the difference in how comfortable it was and how relaxed and in control
I felt at how shockingly much faster, that's the tires.
I was thinking the Loup 38's, but thought I could even go to Cypres
32's. I just ride roads/MUPS. Definitely want normal casings. Not the
extra legers.

Tread thickness on Loups is 3mm.
Tread thickness on Cypres is 3.5? (I think the same as the 3.5
tread Hetre?).

of the tires.
Depends on your weight. Google "BQ Tire Pressure Chart".
Sounds like both the same likelihood of puncture of they can be ridden
at 50psi for less debris hammerability into tread?
*2. Cushy, soft, road-buzz-dampening ride.* Loup is higher volume than
the other, so in theory, the Loup should be more cushy, but don't know
if I will notice a diff between the tires, being as they are both wide
and if they can both be ridden at 50psi.
If you think you will not notice the difference between 32 and 38 all I
can say is Ha Ha Ha Ha! My VO Randonneur has 32s. My 650B bikes have
38s or 42s. Not even close. .38 special vs .45 ACP.
Any info is appreciated.
Also interested to see what a sub-300 gram tire (Cypres) feels like to
ride.
The Cypres is a lovely tire for a 700C bike. Right in the sweet spot
for that size wheel.
Not sure if any of this will even make a difference for an un-racer
like me.
You will ride with comfort and pleasure on unpaved and badly cracked and
broken up pavement where your friends on their racing bikes will be
cursing on the raggedy edge of pain and loss of control.
