I really don't know when Riv went to the "Silver tubes". I wish I could answer your question.
I purchased my Sam without ever seeing this. The decision was based on conversation with Jared about how we would build it. It's been a bit over a year since the May 2013 and I am very happy with Sam. I do want to thank you for the link to the brochure.
