I just sold my 56cm new blue (but not the new-est production run) Sam frame, and now I ride a 61cm Hilsen. I can't comment on the difference between your older Sam and the newer ones, but I can say that between my old Hillborne and my new Hilsen, the differences are incredibly minor, if even perceptible.
