I thank all of you for your responses. The Paselas and the Schwalbe were high on my list as well, but I thought I'd seek more opinions, which I received. i probably should have added to my original post that the QB is currently wearing a set of WTB Terrainasuarus (sp?) 700x35s. I found the tread pattern and sidewall stiffness these to be well suited for the sort of mixed terrain riding I do on the 'Beam, but I am sorely disappointed -- not to mention exasperated -- with the lack of puncture resistance. I have never suffered as many flats with any set of tires as I have with these WTBs. And, all of them have been on scrungy urban shoulders, not fire trails. Also, I am rather determined to keep the sizing at 32, 33 mm widths.
Anyway, I appreciate all of the comments. Thank you again. Does such a tire exist? If not, what comes closest? Thank you all for reading and responses.
