There is also Nicasio Valley Cheese Company just a tailwind coast outside of the Nicasio square. This is on a pretty majorly-bicycle-trafficked route out towards Pt. Reyes Station. Their "Foggy Morning" is excellent. You could conceivably make a nice loop to connect Marin French, Cowgirl and Nicasio Valley.
And for those of you who don't know, I might as well go ahead and mention my brother is a cheesemonger - not a producer - who works at Rainbow Grocery in SF. He's published a cheese memoir - called "Cheesemonger" and is now working on his second book. He has a blog where he has highlighted many small regional US cheesemakers over the years - http://gordonzola.net/ I don't mean to veer the list conversations cheeseward, but wanted to supply some very initial resources to anyone interested in finding out more.
