I just received an email from a Steve Palincsar that said: "Drivel like this has no place on the RBW list. Shame on you."
Just for the record, I've apologized for fractaling off Seth's comments, and I meant it; I would say, however, that politics has a great deal to do with cycling: as I wrote in reply to this gentleman, you only have to read the VO Blog regarding buying things from China (or Grant's comments about that?) Or how decisions are made about allotting transportation monies? How about healthcare (where the less active among us are changed more for insurance, or, as some have written, for not wearing a helmet?) For some, our riding a bicycle is alone a political statement: http://www.johnforester.com/index.html Or this, from the other side (from Fox News): "Rather than proposing, for example, the elimination of the Education Department, as they have in the past, Republicans are suggesting killing a program that pays for building sidewalks, bike paths and crossing guards as part of the Safe Routes to Schools program. That would save $183 million a year." And so it goes: I appreciate that you may not want to read it here, but bicycling is political, folks. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
