Thanks for the replies. At present I am riding a semi recumbent which is not working for my back, funny (not so funny) enough I injured my back in a mountain bike accident ending in a back surgery so it has been tricky to find something that works, Legs extended on a bent or semi recumbent ends up putting pressure on the lower spine more than I thought, good for short rides but not long ones. I had one little DF trek that absolutely killed my back, was too bent over for it and was pretty jarring. I ride what ever and then drag myself to the chiropractor who yells at me and then I ride again. I just wanna have fun and be able to keep up with groups (not spandex racing groups, just fun people that prefer bikes to cars) Backs are funny things, what works for one will not work for another so clearly trying the bike would tell me everything but looks like that may not be an option and I may need to roll the dice and just do it.
