Thank you, Jim. I need to stick with cotton bags for the sound factor (nylon always seems to generate it). The good news is I've pulled out my ultralight rain gear, so that is much smaller (and less effective) than my ventile. There is extra room in the small saddle sack, though perhaps I'm foolishly optimistic. Sardonic grin. The trick is the rides I'll be doing with the QB are still high alpine rides at altitudes up to 12,000 feet, so temp swings of 40-50˚F can happen in a matter of minutes.
