Unfortunately stainless steel is not actually inert as most people  
have been led to believe.  Iron, chromium, nickel, manganese and  
copper can leach into foods and liquids cooked or stored in stainless  
steel containers.

Plasticizers, phthalates, etc. etc.  Our food is laced with these  
things at all levels of production.  Even better, with our stupid  
disposal practices we've even got our food supply eating plastics.
