Hey thanks. Can't comment on 7 v 9 as I've never owned a freehub bike, let alone a 9. 7's as many cogs as I've had on a bike, and this combo works great. I rode a 3-speed with a late 50's SA alloy hub for years, and the thought of a internal hub for the 850 did cross my mind. I have an old TA single crankset squirreled away for such a project, but I may match it up with the stock 5-speed freewheel look if I can put it together with the right gears. Much as I'm enjoying the new/old bike smell of this one, you got me thinking about my next Resurrectio already!
