I'm recovering from a cracked rib -- not as bad as what you have but it has been limiting my riding. I've read a couple of good bicycling related books. One is "Wheels North". There have been posts about it and a website if you want to see what it's about. Another is Jill Homer's "Ghost Trails", which is a memoir with a lot about riding the Iditabike. I've also been working through the videos of the TDF, starting with Lance's first win in 1999.
