It's the first time I've seen this -- a Riv locked to a post in NYC (at the corner of Washington and Gansevoort, Meatpacking district, right under the southern terminus of the new High Line park). Not mine, but a beautiful (commuting?) machine. For those who don't see this every day, check out the locks used to secure it. :-)
