I love my Rambouillet and I'm glad to see Riv bringing back a pure
road bike, whatever the name, and not surprised to hear that the
Atlantis is under stress.

Personally I love the name Rambouillet, I think the play on rambling
exactly captures the spirit of the bike, and the Ram image, as a bike
that's nearly as fast as my '88 custom stage racing frame, pokes fun
at the idea that speed is god. Personally, if I were bringing out a
"fast" version of the Ram., I would have gone with Roadster, not
Roadeo, which feels to me like something that rides in circles.

Just as the AHH squeezed the Ram market it has probably squeezed the
Atlantis market. If I were setting out for Teira del Fuego, I'd want
an Atlantis, or CoMotion Americana, but for most other touring the AHH
with the right wheels is plenty strong enough.

I wish Grant would respond to the exchange rate issues by searching
for, or even developing on-shore mfg. capacity. If Pauls, Whites,
DvVinci, PW, and Chris King can mfg. here than I believe the Atlantis,
AHH and Roadeo can be mfg. here. My wife is a dedicated localvore,
and it has gotten me into appreciating things made closer to home.
That's not always possible (I just ordered a 2010 Prius from Jpn) but
Grant sources bags and clothes made here and I'd like to see his bikes
speced out with more local parts too, including frames.
