Last Friday I got my Hillborne! I've got it mostly built up sans bar tape, but I'm not ready to commit to that yet until I decide if I want a shorter stem. Also missing racks.... all in time. Originally was going to be clear coated steel but due to a mix up I had to pick a color. On a lark I picked blue and I'm really happy with how it came out. I didn't intend to build a pretty bike, as this will be the daily driver, even through winter. But IMO I got one... need to get that first scratch over with.
Pictures can be found at: http://is.gd/KP5K Pertinent Info: 60cm Hillborne Frame, Blueish (I think Post Office Blue 2 is the DuPont color name). Mavic a719 rims Jack Brown Blue Tires LX hubs (mismatched) XD2 cranks Noodles Brooks B17 Also pictured is a xtracycle pea pod (bobike if your Dutch), which works pretty well with the frame, as long as you tighten everything up well. I mucked up the seat tube decal the first time I had it on because of this. As far as the ride, I'm still getting used to it. I'm replacing a "road" bike that I used for everything and still adjusting to the new position and whatnot. So far I'm quite happy with it. The bike feels huge compared to what I'm used to, but a much smoother ride, and almost as responsive as the go fast its replacing. The low speed handling of the bike, epically with a wiggly toddler on the back is what I've been most impressed with so far. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
