Unless someone is absolutely wedded to the desire for a Rambouillet, I don't think they would compare it to a retrofit. Bilenky, for example, charges $1550 for a lugged, delux level frame, with $400 for the S&S couplers. I don't know if that includes a 2 tone paint job, but it does establish a $2,000 alternative for a new bike. Asking $1600 for a slightly used, immediatly available frame and headset still seems reasonable.
