In my humble opinion, there is no elegant solution in force-fitting a fender
which is not intended to fit a bike.

There are the new Hillbornes and Betty Foys in the RBW stable that are 650b
bikes. They are not really for rough roads, which they are not really intended
for. I think RBW is very clear that if you really want to ride rough roads,
there is the Bombadil which can fit really fat tires. But as have been said
about the Hetres's toughness not yet proven on rough roads, why would anyone
think of fitting a hetres on a 650b Bombadil?
