The only place where any fender surgery was required was right at the chain stays. As you can see from the photos, it's not that much. Perhaps a more skilled artisan than I could have come up with a more elegant solution, but this was less than 10 minutes' work and it fits fine. I respectfully submit, Riv's charts are wrong. After all, when they were conceived, the Hetre did not exist. And how might you experience a Hetre with a 700C Atlantis? What 700C tire is there that is like the Hetre? I can think of none. In fact, the closest I know of is the 37mm Pasela, and from what I can see, nobody's had that in stock for at least a year. In my opinion, Rivendell has significantly retreated from its earlier support of the 650B size, and now appears to regard it as merely an option for smaller frames to fit a 32mm tire. Now I like 32mm tires, I ride them on my Velo Orange Randonneur, but believe me, 32mm is NOT a wide low pressure tire for really rough roads. I think Grant got spooked by a bunch of loudmouthed cynics on rec.bicycles.tech. I'm really sorry it happened. But in my opinion they're a bunch of idiots, he was right then, and he is wrong now. I wish he'd buy himself a set of Hetres and try them. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
