Probably already touched on in this remarkable thread, but Riv's stepping up for the 650b side of things has certainly made my bleriot- infused life more fulfilling and comfortable.
And on the "lifestyle" issue, I would offer a small quibble, John, and suggest that some of Riv's (sage) advice can and does lead to what might be called "lifestyle" changes, at least in the folks fortunate enough to be on the receiving end. In that vein, cheers for the advocates for the S240 bike trip. The juries still out for me on the seersucker option. I live in the South, and never felt appreciably cooler in my seersucker suit over the super-light tropical weight wool ones in Georgia's July heat. I guess I figured the color was the main advantage, that and they come pretty cheap. So I remain skeptical, but am willing to give it a go. If it turns out half as well as my experience with my purchase of the wool undies, we will have a new uniform for the coming summer's commute. (There will be shorts involved, yes . . . ) I sip the koolaid, and regularly find it delicious, refreshing. #1 Best Quality of Rivendell Bicycle Works: Thoughtfulness.
