You might try Holly at Grovecraft: http://grovecraft.com/. She makes
cycling caps from recycled wool here in the Twin Cities, and i'm sure
she'd do custom requests. I have one of her wool caps with a short
bill and extra earband around the back, and it's my main cycling cap
in the cooler months. My hat size is about 7 3/8, and the XL wool fits
a bit on the loose side. There's a good picture of that style here:
