I never knew a derailleur that would absorb pedalling forces. In my 12+
years of riding fixed and ss, I've never had a problem with QRs as long as
the QRs are the old, (1) all steel, (2) internal cam type. My chains will
slacken very slightly after a few 10s of miles, but they also do this with
track nuts and solid axles. I'd say, get your QR very tight, and only if
that doesn't work, go to the axle adjuster used with track ends. But I'd be
surprised if they are really necessary.
