753 was the flagship product of Reynolds for several years. It was a heat treated version of 531 and according to what I've read, was 40% stronger. This allowed thinner tube sets of equal carrying capacity. It seems to have been phased out of production around 2001. 853 which is weldable replaced it in the Reynolds line up.
