I see that Avid has changed the design of their Shorty 6 and Shorty 4 brakes. I wonder if the new design helps eliminate the long cantilever/narrow rim effect that the old style brakes (Avids, Oryxes, etc.) seem to produce. I've had squeal problems with my old-style Shorty 6s and I'm thinking of giving the new ones a shot.
