Mike, If Rivendell handles the repair for you, then you win all around from this experience:
1) You get to pick a new color. 2) You learned a lot in the riding home process (about friction-shifting and DIY makeshift frame repair). 3) You got to teach us on this list something (see #2). 4) You were able to share with us a good story about people helping each other. 5) You were the beneficiary of a frame material that gave you warning that it had failed, so you stopped riding and didn't crash. 6) You get to ride an AHH while you wait for the Ram to be repaired. 7) When the Ram is fixed (maybe with a new color), it'll be a little bit like the excitement of a new bike. 8) Maybe, if you are getting a repaint, you can get the top-tube ding filled in while you're at it. It sounds like luck to me, not a pox. :) Have fun with the repairs, Jim -----Original Message----- >From: Mike <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Sent: Nov 23, 2008 3:19 PM >To: RBW Owners Bunch <rbw-owners-bunch@googlegroups.com> >Subject: [RBW] Re: Broken Rambouillet > > >I was hoping that the amount of money I've spent at Rivendell would >counteract his pox.
