I installed a Flyer Special on my upright Xtracycle this spring. The weight wasn't a big deal; ALL Brooks saddles weigh more, so springs wasn't going to make or break it for me. I found that the sprung saddle took much longer to break in. The boingy feeling was actually okay on a longbike (it helped take up some of the shock that would've gone into the frame, and since it's an add-on I figure any stress reduction for the connection points is good). The noise went away after I applied a drop of oil to each of the springs. In short, a good choice; and when the B-17 on my daily city bike goes I may well replace it with a Flyer.
