Along the same lines, I've been looking at the Soma Double Cross.
Roughly comparable to the Cross Check, but has braze-ons for front low-
rider panniers -- the LHT also has them, naturally, but afaik the
Cross Check doesn't.

If only Riv offered "build kits"...
