Steve, per-user stuff like idle or absolute timeouts work only for async
interfaces, but not for isdn interfaces. The workaround is to use
virtual-profiles and then a virtual-access interface will be cloned for the
user. If you include a timeout attribute ( Idle-Timeout or Session-Timeout ) for
a ISDN users, you'll get an authorization fault.

Multilink PPP works ok for you because a virtual-access interface is cloned for
the mlppp bundle, and when cloned, per-user attributes can be configured without
problems in the vacces config. You can check it with "show inter virtual-access
x conf".
