Have you tried adding a line in your `.travis.yml` file that changes the permissions for `configure`? However, on Travis CI I get * installing *source* package �mfbvar� ... ** using staged installation ERROR: 'configure' exists but is not executable -- see the 'R Installation and Administration Manual' This despite the configure file being executable locally. Some of my attempts at fixing this include: - chmod +x configure - removing configure, committing/pushing, putting configure back and chmod +x configure before committing/pushing again to ensure the executable version is pushed - creating a new configure from configure.ac using autoconf All of my attempts have been unsuccessful and I�m a little bit puzzled why it doesn�t work on Travis. Does anyone have any suggestions? The failure is present both on Linux and OS X. I am not sure whether the issue is specific to Travis, but I have no other ways of testing it before submitting to CRAN.
