Looks like my message misunderstood: I tried to explain that "assay validation" and "validation for clinical trials" are mixed up by people working mainly in clinical applications, who have to make judgments about statistical applications.
There is nothing wrong in using SAS, R.... or Excel (with caveats) in statistics.
