Yes, it works.  I sent this before I took another look at the 
documentation and I saw that it called qmail-queue after scanning. So I 
made some entries in the taps file and it does in fact work perfectly. 
It's great that you can do this after all scanning is done so as not to 
archive spam or viruses.
