Hi guys. I finally got qmail-scanner running with clamd and spamassassin3 on my
plesk server. I was wondering if anyone could advise me on setup.

I notice somehow my plesk system is generating lots of junk mail for
[EMAIL PROTECTED] . These can't find their destination of course and
seem to get stuck in the queue. Any ideas why? How can I stop it?

Also on spamassassin setup. I want to setup spamassassin so that all accounts
on the server use global settings. This would include one communal bayes
setup, a shared razor/pyzor account etc. I was planning to set a lose config
at first. Maybe reject spam that scores stupidly high, like +100, so I know
this is definatly, 100% spam which is being rejected. Then tag other scoring
spam and pass it on the tue user, autolearning anything scoring +30 as spam,
and below 0 as ham. This is a conservative setup, but should get bayes
autolearning a little. I would then like to enable users to submit spam/ham to
the global bayes db if they want to. I have no idea how. Most of the users
will collect mail as pop3, so I can't just use a webmail link to submit a
message to spamassassin. I guess one setup could be having two mailboxes,
[EMAIL PROTECTED] and [EMAIL PROTECTED] to which the users forward messages.
Then a cron would run once per day, feeding and emails in those mailboxed in to
spamassassin bayes, and then emptying the mailbox. Im sure this would be
possible, but I have no idea if the fact users are going to have to forward the
mail to the mailboxes, the email client may alter the message (e.g. FW: in the
subject, maybe >> in the body, and then the headers too), meaning spamassassin
is not really learning good HAM/SPAM.

Any idea? What solutions do you guys use?

Also, can someone tell me where to start on clamd notifications? I want to send
an email to both the sender AND recipient of a mail which clamd blocks, telling
them that the message has been blocked, and why (e.g. virus name, bad mime
etc). How do I set this up? Where should I start?

One last thing (sorry I'm going on a bit now!). Im not sure mails are sending
properly from my website. I send them via the PEAR mail_mime/mail classes,
using the sendmail method. Are there any special flags I should set in the php
sendmail call (e.g. where I set path to sendmail)? Is there a modified sendmail
file used by qmail? Or does qmail / qmail-scanner leave sendmail untouched?

Thanks, I hope someone can help! If anyone else uses qmail-scanner on a plesk7
system, it would be interesting to hear how it is running for you.

Justin.
