Qmail-Scanner never alters the body of the message, so no - it can't do exactly what you say there. However, you can configure it to notify the recipient that a message has been blocked using the "--notify recips" option. However (again!) I think what you need is a new option - "--notify precips" - i.e. only notify local recipients when a message to them is blocked for POLICY reasons. That way they don't get nagged about all the viruses been sent to them, but they do get told when a message was blocked because it was a "*.XZQ" file - or whatever. I can't see any harm with that as an idea, in fact it seems like an oversight of mine, so I'll add that to the next release :-) -- Cheers Jason Haar Information Security Manager, Trimble Navigation Ltd.
