"make test"? Well then you can't be using Q-S as there's no Makefile in it :-)

Apparently perl under Solaris has always "done" Syslog calls differently.
There is specific code in Q-S to make it work, but maybe it doesn't? I don't
know - I don't run Solaris.

Someone who does will need to see if there really is a problem, find a fix,
and tell me about it.

BTW: does the syslog bit work for you? If so, you can ignore the error?
