A client today received 11,000 copies of the same item of spam!

Some clueless piece of sh*t had generated an email to every random
permutation of three letters @hisdomain.org - and sent them off through
an open relay at 80.179.102.58 - run by 012.net.il

The filtering system I'd set up last week (qmail-scanner with
SpamAssassin and Clam AV) worked fine and tagged all 11,000 as spam, but
because all of them forwarded to his catch-all email account, his email
client software couldn't pick them up because it kept timing out.

I really think this is malicious behaviour. Hasn't the time come for
qmail-scanner to at least offer the facility to trash messages which are
identified as spam, rather than leaving it up to client software? This
user is begging me to let the server delete his spam, even if the filter
isn't 100% accurate. So far, I have to say, there's been one false
positive, and a handful of false negatives out of several thousand
messages, so the accuracy rate is well above 99% already.

Has anyone else noticed this kind of spam-bombing? What can I do?
