I suppose that's a difference of opinion. I don't know what users you have on your mail server, but I don't have that kind of trust in the users on mine.
I personally like knowing that nothing emanating from my mailserver will be responsible for the spread of a virus (unless of course my av vendor fails to get an update out fast enough).
