I hope we can deprecate vhost-user. New out-of-process devices should just implement VFIO-over-socket with virtio-pci. This way out-of-process devices are full VIRTIO devices and it's cleaner than having the vhost-user protocol that exposes a subset of VIRTIO. Stefan
