It's up to the mentor(s) if they want to take on more students in this area. Regarding your own project plan: It's fine to have stretch goals that will be completed if time permits. The project plan can be adjusted so don't worry about being ambitious - it won't be held against you if you've agreed with your mentor on certain goals that may not fit. Stefan
