Hi all, I apologize in advance about my lack of intelligence on this matter,
but I am urgently trying to figure out how to get Qemu to work under Windows
for mounting and using a Linux-based natively ARM CPU design image to work. I
have tried the windows installers and "DIY" version here:
http://qemu.weilnetz.de/ And here: http://lassauge.free.fr/qemu/ But I just
can't seem to get any of them to run right. I am 100% positive that I am the
one screwing it up though, so at least I found the root cause! :) I have a
no-frills Windows 7 x86 VM sitting on a Hyper-v host. Within that, I have
installed Qemu, which *seems* to be installed correctly. If I run
qemu-system-armw.exe, the console loads and the drop-downs are navigatable and
all is well. Also, I was able to successfully make the *.img file via
qemu-img. However, if I try to install a CD image or attach a .vhd or .vhdx
(which I read are supposed to work), it crashes with the following error:
"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime LibraryThis application has requested the Runtime
to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team
for more info" Most recently, I've tried to just mount the .iso with the CD
Image for the Zero Client that is expecting to be installed on an ARM system
the following way: qemu-system-armw.exe -m 256 -hda mynewimage.img -cdrom
zeroclient.iso -boot d as well as: qemu-system-armw.exe -m 256 -hda
mynewimage.img -cdrom /dev/cdrom -boot d And the Qemu Console pops up, sits
there for about 20 seconds, and then the error above appears and I have to shut
it down. The latest install I'm using is based off of the
"qemu-w32-setup-20140118.exe" file from the first link above. Can anyone help
me with this? Like I said, I'm sure I'm going about it all wrong, but if
anyone can assist me, I would be GREATLY appreciative as I have been hitting a
way for days and need to get this figured out asap. Thanks so much everyone!
:) - Jarrett _
